A man was arrested on a charge of theft for selling stolen gift cards, was arrested again for selling stolen gift cards, police in Florida said.
Volusia County police said that they have arrested 27-year-old James Holcombe, after purchasing gift cards obtained by returning stolen merchandise to retailers.
Holcombe was charged with dealing in stolen property. He was booked into the Volusia County Branch Jail, and his bail was set at $20,000.
According to the police investigation, Holcombe was among 18 people arrested after officers raided two stores that sold gift cards.
The father of the suspect, Dale Holcombe, 52, was also arrested as part of the raid. The father and son purchased the stolen gift cards for half the face value after they were fraudulently obtained from retailers.
While out on bail after his arrest, James Holcombe contacted a company in an attempt to sell 1,000 gift cards. He told the sales agent of the company that he needed to raise money for his lawyer.
