A husband was arrested on a charge of harassment after allegedly shoving his dirty underwear into his wife’s face and ordering her to smell it, police in New York said.
Syracuse police said that they have arrested 32-year-old Matthew L. Stewart, after being accused of breaking his wife’s living room window with his bare hands and crawling into the home before harassing her.
Stewart was charged with second-degree burglary, second-degree harassment, fourth-degree criminal mischief, criminal obstruction of breathing, and endangering the welfare of a child.
He was booked into the Onondaga County jail, and he was denied bail.
According to the police investigation, around 8:00 p.m. on Friday, Stewart broke into his wife’s apartment located on Polk Street, by breaking a window with his hands.
Despite the fact that their 2-year-old daughter was in the home, Stewart proceeded to harass his wife. Stewart picked up his feces covered underpants and pushed it into the face of his wife.
He then shouted at her to smell it. He pushed his wife to the floor before leaving. The woman, who was not identified, suffered an injury to her knee.
