(Scroll down for video) People are being urged to be more aware of their surroundings when walking on the streets after a woman died while on using cellphone.
A married mother of two children, lost her life in an avoidable accident after falling into a river while she was focused on her phone.
Police released a video of the woman in Wenzhou, China, who drowned after losing her footing and falling into a river on Tuesday night.
Surveillance footage shows the woman who was identified as 28-year-old Wang, walking in the middle of the road, but was too focused on her phone to realize that she gradually walked closer to the edge of the water.
She suddenly lost her footing and fell into the river. She struggled for one minute before she drowned. Wang’s body was discovered the next morning by her husband Yang, who found her shoe floating in the river while he was looking for her.
Police officer Zhou Renjun said that the water is only chest deep, but the thick mud in the water made it hard to stand inside.
