A woman was arrested on a charge of battery after allegedly beating up her grandfather with a cellphone because he didn’t want her cats in his house, police in Florida said.
The Volusia County sheriff’s Office said that they have arrested 26-year-old Kelsie Shreve, after being accused of beating 78-year-old Kenneth Shreve, following a dispute over cats.
Kelsie Shreve was charged with one count of battery on a person 65 years or older. She was booked and released on her own recognizance.
According to the police investigation, the woman and her grandfather had an argument about her cats, saying that he doesn’t want them in his home.
When the grandfather tried to close a window to keep the cats out of the home, Kelsie Shreve beat him, pushed him to the floor and hit him in the face numerous times with her cellphone.
Police officers who arrived at the scene around 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, found that Kenneth Shreve suffered cuts to his nose and eyebrow.
The grandfather also had a cut on the top of his right hand and was bleeding from the right elbow and left knee.
