(Scroll down for video) People were furious after a bus driver stopped at a motel, exited the bus and did not come back.

Police were called after the Greyhound bus bound for Denver, Colorado, pulled into the parking lot at a motel in Kansas around 4:30 p.m., and did not return.

He did not tell passengers where he was going or for how long he will be gone. The passengers assumed that the driver will be back shortly.

However, the driver left the busload of passengers, including young children, stranded for hours outside the LaQuinta Inn in Salina.

The driver actually went to the motel to take a nap in the warm room, while his passengers were getting cold on the bus. When the driver did not return after a reasonable amount of time, people called both the bus company and the police.

Greyhound did not seem to be concerned over the suffering of their customers. They said that the driver had to complete his federally-regulated rest hours due to unforeseen circumstances.

The company also reportedly said that passengers could have waited at a nearby fast food restaurant to keep warm.
