A transgender woman was arrested on a charge of rape after allegedly raping a teenage girl, following hours of drinking, police in the United Kingdom said.

Fordingbridge police said that they have arrested 34-year-old Davina Ayrton, after being accused of drinking with the 15-year-old girl and the raping her on a couch.

Ayrton was charged with one count of rape. According to the police investigation, the incident unfolded when the suspect was still a man named David.

The Portsmouth Crown Court heard that the victim, who was not identified, tried to push Ayrton away before she raped her.

The victim told the court that the rape lasted just a few seconds, but it felt like several minutes. The girl said that she was unable to move or breathe as Ayrton pinned down both her hands and blocked her mouth.

After the rape, Ayrton sat on the couch for a few minutes, picked something up from the floor and fled from the scene.

The girl did not report the rape to police because she was too traumatized to talk about it. The crime came to light after Ayrton told someone that he raped a girl, and that person called the police.

Ayrton pleaded not guilty to a charge of rape.
