Wayne County police said that they have arrested 25-year-old Rodney Brown, after being accused of stealing 25 chickens, a goat and farm equipment, and holding the items as ransom.

Brown was charged with theft, promoting prostitution and third-degree terroristic threatening. He was booked into the Wayne County Detention Center.

According to the police investigation, Brown took the animals and supplies for the home of the victim on Monday.

The following day, Brown contacted the owner via text message and offered to give the property back to him if he would consent to have sex.

Brown also threatened to assault him if he reported the theft to the police.
