A paramedic was beaten by a man, who was angry that he was unable to save his wife.

The paramedic of Sichuan, China, was trying to save the life of a patient on Sunday morning, when he was brutally assaulted by her husband.

The man was angry because he believed that it took too long for the emergency workers to arrive, which resulted in the death of his 40-year-old wife.

However, police said that the 28-year-old paramedic, who was identified as Wu Jianqiang, received the call at 12:57 a.m. He along with a nurse arrived at the patient’s residence by 1:06 a.m.

Jianqiang performed CPR on the elderly woman, but she showed no signs of life. When he pronounced the woman dead, her family became violent.

One man grabbed Jianqiang by the neck. He managed to escape. The family chased after him and allegedly threatened to cut off his hands.

Wu fell while running, which gave the other family members time to catch up to him and they beat him while he lied helpless on the ground.

Jianqiang was taken to the Deyang People’s Hospital, where he is being treated for broken bones.

According to the Deyang police, both the woman’s husband who was identified as Hu, and a neighbor who was identified as Shi, admitted to the crime.

Hu was released on bail so he can make arrangements to bury his wife However, Shi was jailed. They are both facing charges of assault.
