A pastor from Canada, was sentenced to hard labor in North Korea.
60-year-old Reverend Hyeon Soo Lim said that he works eight hours a day digging holes in a labor camp.
The pastor said that his crime was speaking badly of North Korea’s leader. “I admit I’ve violated this government’s authority, system and order,” he said.
He was ordered to work long days and dig holes. Lim said that he works alone without the benefit of human company to make his work less boring.
Lim gets three meals a day and medical care, but his church members in Canada, where he has lived since 1986, claims that he had very high blood pressure and they want him to come home to get medical attention.
Lim, went to North Korea more than 100 times since 1997, and he helped set up an orphanage and nursing home.
