A photo showing a 16-month-old girl sitting in the back seat of a police cruiser, took the Internet by storm.
The girl’s mother, 22-year-old Lauren Clarke of the United Kingdom, took the photo of Madison in the back of a police car.
Clarke of Manchester, sent the photo to her friend Vikki Summerfield, and wrote that her daughter was arrested for shoplifting a bar of chocolate from a supermarket.
She claimed that the 16-month-old girl had been seen on surveillance video taking a bar of chocolate, and she was detained by police for questioning.
Summerfield, 23, who was shocked by the photo, replied: “That’s disgusting.” She then said: “how can they arrest a baby! Did you go with her in the police car?”
Clarke shared the photo and the Whatsapp conversation between herself and her friend on Facebook, where it was shared almost 9,000 times.
Clarke was shocked that her post went viral with people criticizing the police over the arrest of the child. However, Clarke revealed that while her daughter was in the back seat of a police car, it was not what it appeared to be as she sent the photo to her friend as a prank.
Clarke revealed that she was with her parents and daughter when in their car broke down and started smoking.
A police officer offered to take the mother and daughter to a safer place. After placing her 16-month-old daughter in the police cruiser, the mother took a photo and sent it to her friend, claiming that the child was arrested.
