A teenage girl fell to her death while she and her friends were doing “Spiderman” jumps from one rooftop to the next in New York City.
15-year-old Natalia Jimenez died on Friday afternoon, after she tried to jump from rooftop to rooftop in Manhattan, and fell five stories, police said.
Jimenez was with two friends when they jumped over three apartment building rooftops on 10th Avenue near 48th Street in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood.
Police said that a neighbor warned the teenagers to get off the roof and told them that they should not be there.
While heading back to their starting point, Jimenez lost her balance and fell into a closed air shaft between the buildings and landed on the pavement.
The black mesh fabric that covered the gap between the building was not strong enough to hold the girl. There was a huge tear were the girl fell through.
Police officers were called around 4:30 p.m., to the alley where Jimenez was found unconscious and unresponsive.
She was taken to the Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Jimenez’s grandfather, Rosalino Mangano, owns the Famous Original Ray’s Pizza shop near her home.
