(Scroll down for video) Police in California, said that a man jumped to his death while running from police.
The man was identified as 40-year-old Paul Giacomoni of San Lorenzo.
The Alameda County Sheriff’s Department said that Giacomoni, was spotted driving a stolen van in San Francisco, and police proceeded to chase after him.
Giacomoni initially slowed down, but then sped away, leading police on a chase. He finally pulled over near Highway 238.
However, he did not wait for police. Instead, he got out of the car and ran. Giacomoni climbed over the fence of an overpass and fell about 30 feet to his death.
His body was discovered on the ground of the San Lorenzo Pioneer cemetery. He was wearing a ski mask and gloves when his body was recovered.
Giacomoni was pronounced dead at 12:30 a.m. Police say that Giacomoni has a long criminal history, including weapons charges, violence and other crimes.
His passenger, Gene Shrewbery, was arrested after he was found in possession of stolen property and drug paraphernalia.
