The LaPorte Police Department said that the incident unfolded on Monday evening at the McDonald’s located on Boyd Boulevard.
According to the police investigation, the driver of the vehicle, who was intoxicated, pulled up to the McDonald’s drive-thru window and ordered a meal for himself and two passengers.
When it came time to pay for his order, he pulled out some cash from his pocket along with a bag of heroin, and handed them over to the 28-year-old employee.
When the employee noticed the small green plastic bag containing a dark rocky substance, she called the police. Police conducted a test on the substance and it turned out to be heroin.
Police reviewed the surveillance video of the restaurant, but so far, no arrests have been made.
