A man was arrested on a charge of manslaughter after allegedly killing a senior citizen who touched his truck while walking his dog with his granddaughters, police in Florida said.
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office said that they have arrested 51-year-old Warren Buchanan, after being accused of punching 67-year-old German Heredia, causing him to hit his head in concrete.
Buchanan was charged with one count of manslaughter.
He was booked into the Brevard County Jail, and his bail was set at $50,000.
According to the police investigation, Heredia and his granddaughters were walking their dog in the area of 2120 Rudge Drive on Tuesday, when an argument broke out between Heredia and Buchanan.
Buchanan accused Heredia of touching his truck. During the argument, Buchanan hit Heredia’s face, causing him to fall and hit his head on concrete.
Heredia was taken to the Holmes Regional Medical Center, where he died of his wounds. An autopsy was performed and it showed that Heredia died of trauma to the head.
