Broward County investigators said that Francis Francois, was ordering pizza for herself and her colleagues when a 911 call came in to report a man who suffered a seizure in Fort Lauderdale.

The man, who eventually recovered on his own, was at the Clearsight Opticians, when he fainted and workers inside called 911.

The workers did not receive a response and nobody returned their calls. Investigators retrieved a recording in which Francois is heard ordering pizza.

She is heard placing multiple orders and checking prices for about eight minutes.

During this period, Francois did not respond to incoming calls despite audible tones one visual alerts resulting from 911 calls going unanswered and abandoned.

When questioned, Francois admitted that she should have abandoned the call with the pizza store and take the emergency call.

She was officially given a letter of reprimand. As a result of the incident, Fort Lauderdale is now looking into setting up their own 911 dispatch system.
