A Burger King employee was arrested for burning his uniform because it was the property of Burger King.
Deputies in Florida, arrested 24-year-old Timothy Alejandro Ortiz, for setting fire to his uniform after being fired from Burger King.
The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office said that Ortiz became angry when he was fired. He left the fast food restaurant in Palencia, and set on his hat and uniform shirt on fire.
Ortiz left the burning clothes on the ground near the restaurant and walked away before getting into an argument with the manager and customers who witnessed the incident.
By the time officers arrived at the Burger King, Ortiz had left the
scene. He was located outside his home, where he shouted and cursed at a deputy, according to the police report.
He became more aggressive and refused to let himself be handcuffed. A deputy fired his stun gun, but Ortiz managed to run away.
Ortiz eventually surrendered to police. He was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting an officer without violence, and damage to property under $200.
