Train passengers in the United Kingdom, panicked after seeing a man dressed as a suicide bomber, police said.

Pedro Fonseca was traveling on a train in London, when he sparked widespread panic after being dressed as a terrorist for a costume party.

The British Transport Police said that although this incident was not reported by anyone on the train, the choice of dress was insensitive in the light of recent terrorist attacks across the world.

“It is important for everyone to remember the need to be responsible and considerate to fellow passengers while traveling,” a police spokesperson said.

Fonseca however, denied that he was dressed inappropriately.

Fonseca said that passengers mistook his camouflage costume and backpack as terrorist clothing. Fonseca was on his way to Covent Garden for a costume party.

One commuter revealed that he considered taking down Fonseca, after mistaking his bag for a bomb as it had a protruding wire.

Fonseca’s friends who accompanied him on the train, were dressed as police officers. Fonseca revealed that the backpack around his chest was a small bag containing his wallet and phone.

He also said that the protruding wire was a key chain.
