A woman was arrested on a charge of arson after allegedly deliberately setting her home on fire before blaming snakes and demons for the blaze, police in Florida said.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said that they have arrested Jackquen Carlisle, after being accused of setting her home on fire.

Carlisle was charged with one count of arson. She was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail, and she is being held without bail.

According to the police investigation, the Palm Beach County Fire Rescue responded to a fire in an apartment in the 700 block of San Marco Circle on Monday.

The fire began in the bathroom of the home and traveled to the master bedroom. Carlisle, who lives in the apartment, told investigators that she did not know how the fire started.

Later, she said that snakes and demons started the fire.

On Thursday, Carlisle admitted that she was burning something in his room, but did not know how the fire started in the bathroom.
