(Scroll down for video) A man who wanted to sell an item on Craigslist, found himself to be a victim of a robbery.
Police in Colorado, were called to a home in Littleton, after a homeowner shot and killed a man who attempted to drive away with his vehicle.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said that officers responded to a residence in the 5400 block of South Taft Court, for a robbery gone wrong.
Police said that just after 9:00 a.m., two men came to the shooter’s home to buy an item that was listed on Craigslist. However, while in the home, the men tied up the homeowner and robbed him.
Police said that the men produced a firearm before they tied up the homeowner and took the keys to his Mustang and Ford SUVs.
One man drove in the gold Mustang, while the other man jumped into the SUV and attempted to drive off.
Meanwhile, the homeowner managed to free himself. He grabbed his gun and ran outside to confront the thief who was in the driver’s seat of his car.
The homeowner shot and killed the car thief. Police said that the Mustang was found overnight, as it has been abandoned nearly 20 miles away in Federal Heights, but they are still looking for the second suspect who is described as an Hispanic man in his 40s.
Police are investigating the incident and will determine if the shooting was justified. So far, no arrests have been made.
