(Scroll down for video) An Uber driver was arrested on a charge of assault after allegedly pointing a gun on a passenger who threatened to assault him with his private parts, police in Florida said.
The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office said that they have arrested 67-year-old Patrick McDonald, after being accused of pulling out a sick passenger from his car.
McDonald was charged with aggravated assault and battery.
He was booked into the Manatee County jail, and his bail was set at $2,500.
According to the police investigation, around 8:00 p.m. on Friday, McDonald picked up the victim and agreed to drive him to his home.
On the way home, the victim told the driver that he was not feeling well and asked him to stop because he had to vomit.
McDonald stopped the car, and the victim said that he was fine and did not need to vomit. McDonald told the victim that he had to leave the vehicle because he didn’t want to ruin his $75,000 car.
McDonald got out and opened the rear door of the car.
He pulled the victim’s left arm in an attempt to get him out of the car.
As the two were arguing while standing outside the vehicle, McDonald reached into the driver’s side window and pulled out a semiautomatic pistol.
Witnesses said that McDonald pointed the gun at the victim, and said that he was not afraid of him because he had a gun.
McDonald told deputies that he grabbed the gun out of fear for his life, and the passenger threatened to assault him with his private parts.
