A young woman was arrested on a charge of prostitution after an undercover female police officer confronted her.

Police in Pennsylvania, said that they arrested 24-year-old Alyssa R. Ambrosino of Chambersburg, for prostitution.

Ambrosino was picked up at a hotel despite the fact that she refused to have sex with an undercover detective when she suspected that he was a police officer, the Monroe County District Attorney’s office said.

The officer responded to an ad for sex. However, after he entered the room, Ambrosino, who was dressed in a T-shirt and panties, told him she was uncomfortable and asked him to leave.

Ambrosino admitted that she thought he was an officer and therefore sent him away. Police said that after the first failed attempt to catch Ambrosino, they sent a second undercover detective. The female officer went to the hotel room to confront Ambrosino.

The undercover officer knocked on the door and demanded to know why “her husband,” was at her hotel room. At first, Ambrosino said “ask him.”

However, she then agreed to talk to the woman and told her to come inside the room. When the female officer went inside the room she saw a clear plastic container with marijuana on the nightstand, police said.

Ambrosino was arrested. Police confiscated marijuana, a large sum of money, two cellphones and condoms.

Ambrosino allegedly admitted the charging $120 per half hour, and $180 per hour. She told police that she had been prostituting herself since she was 18 years old, according to the police report.

She earns between $300 to $1,000 per day. Ambrosino has been arrested for prostitution before, the affidavit states.

She was charged with promoting prostitution, possession of marijuana and disorderly conduct.
