(Scroll down for video) A young girl of Pennsylvania, was forced to go to school with severe burns to her hands without getting medical treatment.
The 6-year-old girl told her teacher about her injuries, but she added that her stepmother warned her not to tell anyone.
According to police, the girl told investigators: “My stepmother said that she would kill me if I told anyone what happened.”
Butler County police arrested 34-year-old Tonya Schmidt. She was charged with felony aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of children.
Schmidt lives with her four stepchildren and their biological father. The children’s grandmother said that her family has reached out to child protective services because the children have always been abused by Schmidt. However, they did nothing to protect the children.
The 6-year-old victim was placed in foster care. However, the other three children are still in the home.
