Couple rents out HIV infected human body parts to medical students

(Scroll down for video) Many people are outraged after learning about the arrest of a couple who desecrated the bodies of their loved ones and placed medical students at great risk.

Arthur Rathburn, 62, and his wife Elizabeth, 55, of Michigan, were arrested after the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
learned that they were selling infected body parts.

The couple rented and sold body parts for profit to medical students, who were studying to become doctors and dentists.

The disgraced couple persuaded families to donate the bodies of loved ones for medical science. However, after receiving the bodies, the couple use a chainsaw to cut them up and sold them for profit or rented them out for students.

The couple of Grosse Pointe Park, ran International Biological, Inc. Officers said that they stored body parts from more than 1,000 people in a warehouse.

Some of the bodies were infected with diseases such as HIV and Hepatitis. The couple did not inform the buyers that the body parts were infected.

The couple shipped the parts to other body parts dealers. They often shipped the it via cargo planes and Fedex, attorney Barbara Mcquade said.

The couple is facing charges that includes fraud, false statements to the U.S. government and transportation of hazardous material.

They face up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
