A police officer was arrested on a charge of false imprisonment after allegedly accusing her former boyfriend of rape because he broke up with her, police in California said.

The Los Angeles Police Department said that they have arrested 44-year-old Christine Wycoff, after being accused of threatening her former boyfriend when their sexual relationship ended.

Wycoff was charged with one count of false imprisonment.

She was booked into jail, and her bail was set at $150,000. If convicted, Wycoff faces up to four years in prison. According to the police investigation, Wyckoff met the man on the Internet last year.

They had a sexual relationship for several months. When the relationship ended, Wyckoff threatened the man, and he filed a complaint with the police.

While the police were investigating, Wycoff told the man that if he cooperated with the investigation, she will accuse him of domestic violence.

She followed through with her threat, and filed a report stating that the man had sexually assaulted her. The man was arrested, but he was released without being charged.
