A man was arrested after he killed a firefighter who came to help his family member.
Police in Arkansas, arrested homeowner Mark Pruitt, after he shot the firefighter who showed up to his house without wearing his uniform.
29-year-old Jason Adams of North Little Rock, was a volunteer firefighter for the East Pulaski Fire Department, when he heard a call come in about a person suffering a seizure.
Due to the bad weather conditions, firefighters had a hard time getting to the home fast. However, Adams, who lived close to Pruitt, offered to run over to the house to help the person in need.
When Adams entered the home at 5:00 a.m., he was shot by Pruitt, who said that he mistook the victim for an intruder.
Pruitt told investigators that Adams came into his house without wearing his uniform and without saying who he was. Pruitt, who was not the one who called for help, allegedly mistook Adams for an intruder so he killed him.
Pruitt has been charged with manslaughter in the death of the firefighter.
