(Scroll down for video) A police officer with the New York Police Department (NYPD), was fired after officials learned that he had a side job as a pimp.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) said that 33-year-old Eduardo Cornejo, was seen transporting women to work as prostitutes in hotels in Staten Island, Long Island, the Bronx and New Jersey.
Cornejo was an 11-year veteran of the NYPD. He was assigned to the 79th Precinct in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.
Federal agents followed Cornejo, after receiving an anonymous tip that he was pimping out several young women. He was fired from the department after failing a drug test.
“Rather than seeking to stop crime, the defendant promoted prostitution and profited from his exploitation of women,” Brooklyn U.S. Attorney Robert Capers said.
