(Scroll down for video) Police launched an investigation after dead catfish showed up in residents’ mailboxes over the last few days, police in Florida said.
Several residents in Osceola County, found the fish in their mailboxes and yards, prompting questions if this is part of a prank or something more serious.
On Monday morning, a United States Postal Service delivery person found a dead catfish inside the postbox belonging to Maddison Fertic.
Fertic said that the fish measured 12 inches long. It looked like that the fish had been dumped in the mailbox alive as the entire area was dirty, Fertic added.
Two other people reported similar incidents this week. A resident reported finding a catfish in the mailbox and another said that a fish was dumped in his yard.
Residents fear that the pranksters will escalate their activities in the coming days and weeks. Police said that so far, no arrests have been made.
