A man who enjoyed dinner at a restaurant, lost the tip of his nose after telling a drunk man to keep quiet, police in the United Kingdom said.

Now, 23-year-old Gareth Thomas of Luton, has been sentenced to serve 5 years in prison after pleading guilty to wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Judge Barbara Mensah told Thomas, that he had left his victim with life changing injuries as a result of the horrible attack.

According to the police investigation, the incident occurred in the center of Luton in the early hours of the morning outside a restaurant.

The victim had asked Thomas politely to calm down, but he turned on him and bit his nose, taking the tip off. Thomas said that he is very remorseful, and if he could, he would take it back one hundred times.

He also claims that he has no recollection whatsoever of the incident because he was very drunk. The victim suffered psychologically as well as physically and may have plastic surgery in the future.

He has been depressed, rarely goes out and has lost his self confidence.
