(Scroll down for video) A babysitter was arrested on a charge of child abuse causing death after being accused of stuffing a baby wipe down a girl’s throat, police in Nebraska said.

Now, 33-year-old Azudany Serrano-Contreras of Hastings, pleaded no contest to negligent child abuse resulting in injury after claiming that 1-year-old Aliyana Peterson, pushed the baby wipe down her own throat.

She faces up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.

She had faced up to 20 years in prison on a charge of intentional child abuse causing death.

According to the police investigation, Serrano-Contreras, who is the aunt of the girl’s mother, pushed the baby wipe down Peterson’s throat, causing her to choke.

She was taken to a hospital, where she died of her injuries.

Investigators believe that Serrano-Contreras covered the child’s mouth with the wipe because she was crying.

However, Serrano-Contreras claimed that it was an accident, saying that when she was babysitting the girl, she cleaned her face with a wipe.

She then placed the wipe on a counter and turned to get lotion. When she turned back, she saw that the girl was gasping for air.
