(Scroll down for video) A teenager lost several teeth and part of his jaw after an electronic cigarette exploded in his mouth, doctors in Montana said.

A dentist in Missoula, said that he treated a patient, who was not identified, following an incident in which the e-cigarette exploded while he was using it, causing massive damage to the mouth.

Dr. Kevin Miltko of the Miltko Family Dentistry, said that the trauma was worse than the result of any car accident he had ever seen.

The explosion caused him to lose his four front teeth, upper front teeth and lower front teeth. All teeth will require root canals because there was so much damage.

In addition to the lost teeth, a large piece of jaw bone was blown off. The teen also required 22 stitches.
