(Scroll down for video) At least six people suffered injuries after an out of control leopard raided a school and walked around in the hallway and classrooms, police in India said.

Karnataka police said that the incident unfolded on Sunday, and the leopard was spotted walking in the school by security guards who were watching surveillance cameras.

Police and forest personnel were called, and they planned an operation to capture the leopard. Unfortunately, six people suffered injuries and were transferred to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Eventually, the leopard was captured and removed by police after they managed to put the animal to sleep with tranquilizers.

The children were evacuated from the school, and it took officials 10 hours to capture the leopard. The leopard has been handed over to a national park.
