(Scroll down for video) A man was rescued after he was locked inside his newspaper stand for three days.
Police in California, were called after a passerby heard someone moaning inside the locked newspaper stand.
Officers found the stand to be locked with a chain and padlock from the outside while the 84-year-old vender was trapped inside.
The man was rescued from the wooden structure near Western Avenue and Pico Boulevard. Officer Eric Mollinedo posted a photo on social media, showing the elderly man being removed from the kiosk.
The man was taken to a hospital to be treated for dehydration and malnutrition. Police said that the man was in stable condition and is recovering.
Police spokesman Dikram Melkonian said the elderly man is lucky to be alive after being trapped inside the hot newsstand for three days without food or water.
