A man who posted a picture of himself with a large amount of cash, was robbed at knife-point just several hours after posting the image on a social media site, police in Florida said.
The Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office said that they have arrested 21-year-old Faried Said, after being accused of breaking into the home of an 18-year-old man and stealing his cash while threatening him with a knife.
Said was charged with armed robbery and burglary. He was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail, and is being held without bail.
The 18-year-old robbery victim told investigators that when was in his room playing video games, he heard a noise.
Thinking it was his house cleaner, the man ignored the noise.
Seconds later, two men who were wearing masks and armed with knives, burst into his room. They demanded the $280 that they saw in a photo on Snapchat earlier that day.
One of the men put the victim in a headlock and held a knife to his neck. The other robber, who was also armed with a knife, took the victim’s wallet and a Seiko watch.
When the men left, the victim called the police and told them that he recognized one of the men as Said.
