An elderly man stabbed his neighbor who warned him to keep his dog locked inside his home and not let it run around the neighborhood, police in Japan said.
Kumamoto police said that they have arrested 83-year-old Mitsuyoshi Kushimura, after being accused of stabbing his 70-year-old neighbor, who was not identified.
Kushimura was charged with one count of aggravated assault.
According to the police investigation, Kushimura stabbed his 70-year-old neighbor around 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, following an argument about the suspect’s dog.
The victim warned the suspect to keep his dog in his house and not let it run around the neighborhood. In response, Kushimura pulled a knife and stabbed the neighbor in the chest.
The neighbor was taken to a hospital, and he is said to be in good condition.
During questioning, Kushimura admitted to stabbing his neighbor because he was angry that he complained about his dog.
