The victims of a pedophile priest are angry after the Vatican lifted his suspension despite pleading guilty to sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl.
61-year-old Joseph Palanivel Jeyapaul of India, has been reinstated after serving time in prison for sexually abusing the 14-year-old girl in Minnesota.
The priest was also accused of sexually assaulting another 14-year-old girl, but the charges were dropped as part of a plea bargain agreement with prosecutors.
The Vatican suspended the priest following his conviction.
However, after being released from prison, Jeyapaul moved back to India, where he was reinstated.
The attorney for the priest’s two victims, Jeff Anderson, said that he is preparing to take legal action to have the priest barred from having contact with children.
