17-year-old boy has hand ripped off after stealing sneakers at gunpoint

(Scroll down for video) A teenage boy lost his arm after robbing a man in a Craigslist sale gone wrong.

Zachary Sam, 17, of Brooklyn, New York, meet Phillip Pierre, 39, a father of three children around 1:00 p.m., in order to buy a pair of Air Jordan 8 sneakers, which was advertised on Craigslist for $190.

Security cameras of the incident, shows Sam getting into Pierre’s minivan. He then pulled a gun, grabbed the sneakers and ran away with them.

Sam, who did not have a get-away car, walked towards his home. Pierre, who saw the teenager walking away with his sneakers, made a U-turn, drove onto the sidewalk and plowed into the teenager.

Sam was pulled under the wheel of the car and was hit against a metal fence, causing his arm to come off.

After being hit, Sam got up and ran towards his home, leaving part of his hand behind, but he collapsed on the way.

Pierre, who said that he sold the sneakers on Craigslist to support his family, was arrested and charged with attempted murder. He is being held on $100,000 bond.

Sam was charged with armed robbery and criminal possession of a firearm.
