(Scroll down for video) A little girl was scared and was seen crying after accidentally locking herself into a small safe at a bank in Italy.

Firefighters were called to a branch of the UniCredit bank in Vicenza, after the two-year-old girl managed to get inside the safe and lock herself inside.

The girl was at the bank with her mother, but got bored and walked away while she was talking to the bank teller.

The girl climbed into the safe before the door closed behind her. Once closed, the safe could not be opened for 40 minutes.

As soon as the child’s mother realized what had happened, she panicked. Bank employees called the fire department to free the child.

Firefighters managed to force the door of the safe open with the help of a hydraulic wedge. The girl was trapped inside the safe for about 15 minutes.

The girl was crying, but was unharmed. She was handed over to her mother.
