A good Samaritan was killed by his own car while it was unoccupied.
Police in Missouri, said that an Army captain, who received a Purple Heart, was killed with his own car after stopping to help stranded motorists.
37-year-old Aaron J Eidem stopped on the I-44 to help motorists who were involved in a crash when a tractor trailer lost control and crashed into his car.
The tractor-trailer came up from behind and pushed the unoccupied car into its owner. The driver of the trailer-tractor, who was identified as Thomas Fruth from Ohio, also hit two other vehicles.
Eidem was taken to the Cox South Hospital, where he died shortly before 8:00 p.m. Eidem left behind his wife Amber and three children.
