A woman was arrested on a charge of murder after stabbing her brother because he insulted the singer Nicki Minaj, police in Missouri said.
Now, 55-year-old Angela Hallmon of St. Louis, has been sentenced to serve seven years in prison after pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter in connection with the stabbing of 55-year-old Edward Hallmon.
In exchange for the guilty plea, prosecutors dropped the charges of second-degree murder, armed criminal action and evidence tampering.
According to the police investigation, Edward Harmon had a discussion with his sister, Angela Hallmon, about YouTube videos and Nicki Minaj.
They were both intoxicated when he made disparaging remarks about Minaj. In response, Angela Hallmon stabbed her brother in the chest at their home in the 5300 block of Northland Avenue.
After being stabbed, Edward Hallmon ran downstairs and sought help from relatives.
As other family members were helping Edward Hallmon, Angela Hallmon hid the knife and cleaned up her brother’s blood from the floor.
