Now, 61-year-old Garry D. Meyer of West Chester Township, has been sentenced to serve 5 years in prison after pleading guilty to theft in connection with the embezzlement of the Tri-County Baptist Church.

Pastor Brian McManus told a court that Meyer’s actions affected not only the congregation, but also more than 100 missionaries.
The pastor said that Meyer confessed only after his actions were discovered by his wife. The initial investigation revealed that Meyer stole approximately $400,000.
As the investigation progressed, the estimate was increased. Meyer stole the money over a period of 14 years.
