(Scroll down for video) A mother was arrested on a charge of murder after she dumped her newborn baby in the middle of a street and set her on fire, police in New Jersey said.
Now, 23-year-old Hyphernkemberly Dorvilier of Pemberton Township, is facing up to 30 years in jail after pleading guilty to aggravated manslaughter.
According to the police investigation, Dorvilier doused her newborn baby with accelerant and set her on fire. The baby suffered third-degree burns on 60 percent of her body.
She was taken to a hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she died. Dorvilier killed her baby after hiding her pregnancy from her mother and sisters.
The baby was found with her umbilical cord and placenta attached. A passerby called the police after seeing something burning in middle of the street.
When police arrived at the scene, they found the caller holding down Dorvilier, and the baby wrapped in a towel. Dorvilier had a can of WD-40 and a lighter in her pocket.
