Four refugees were arrested on a charge of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm after allegedly harassing three teenage girls who were eating alone at a restaurant, police in Germany said.

Kiel police said that the incident unfolded around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, as the three girls, aged 15, 16, and 17, were eating dinner.

At first, the girls were followed by two young men, both from Afghanistan. The two men then sat down near the girls and began recording them on their cellphones.

The men then sent the videos and images to their friends.

Within a few minutes, a group of up to 30 men, all refugees, arrived outside the restaurant. Two of the girls managed to run away from the restaurant, leaving the third girl behind.

The two girls later returned to check on the third girl. They found the refugees sitting next to her and harassing her.

Customers in the restaurant called police to report that several girls were being harassed by a large group of men. Officers who arrived at the scene, attempted to arrest four of the men, but they resisted.

They were charged with attempted grievous bodily harm.
