A man was arrested on a charge of assault after he beat up his girlfriend for taking the entire blanket for herself during the night, police in the United Kingdom said.

Now, 35-year-old Richard William Heath of Macclesfield, had been ordered to complete 12 hours of community service after pleading guilty to assault.

According to the police investigation, the couple went to bed and had a dispute over the use of their blanket. She pulled the blanket to herself and he tried to pull it back.

Heath got angry, pinned her down, and bruised her arms. He then grabbed her by the hair and dragged her out of bed.

Heath dragged her to the kitchen, where he kicked her in the stomach. The woman called her brother who filed a complaint with the police.

The couple has a child together. The court also ordered Heath to stay away from his girlfriend. Heath said that he was shocked that his girlfriend filed for a restraining order, and will return to her home when it expires.
