4-year-old shoots his mother hours after she bragged on Facebook about his love for guns

(Scroll down for video) A gun advocate who brags on Facebook about her 4-year-old son getting “pumped up” by gun practice, was shot by the boy.

Police in Florida, said that deputies found a truck trailer and a horse trailer in the middle of traffic lanes on a highway in Putnam County.

When the officers went to investigate, they found a mother in need of medical attention. The woman’s 4-year-old son was crying in the back seat of the car, police said.

Police learned that 31-year-old Jamie Gilt, was accidentally shot by her young son just after 3:00 p.m. The 4-year-old boy shot his mother in the back after the bullet went through the driver seat of her car as she was driving.

She was taken to UF Health and is in stable condition, according to deputies. The Department of Children and Families has been notified about the incident.

Gilt, who has a Facebook page named “Jamie Gilt for Gun Sense,” legally owned the gun, according to police. So far, she has not been charged.
