The leader of a poplar anti-drug organization was arrested after being caught in possession of drugs, police in Turkey said.
Ankara police said that the leader of the Federation for the Fight against Drug Addiction and Alcoholism, Ismail Karakas, is now being investigated on charges of drug distribution and sexual assault.
According to the police investigation, Karakas, who is married and is a father of four children, provided heroin and pills for patients seeking treatment.
Karakas is also accused of giving heroin to a patient at a time of withdrawal symptoms, and then sexually assaulting her.
Police searched the officer of Karakas, and they found 36 packages of heroin and 117 different types of prescription drugs.
Investigators believe that Karakas was having relationships with women who sought treatment at his facilities. He also asked his male patients if he could have sexual relationships with their female relatives.
