The Martin County Sheriff’s Office said that they have arrested 56-year-old William Perry Walton, after being accused of using a machete to stab a park employee during an argument.
Walton was charged with one count of attempted murder. He was booked into the Martin County Jail, and his bail was set at $100,000.
According to the police investigation, Walton stood outside the victim’s home and yelled profanities. When the victim told Walton to stop yelling outside his residence, he became angry.
Walton then followed the victim to the park bathroom.
As the victim showered there, Walton broke through the glass doors of the restroom and began attacking the victim with a machete.
Luckily, Walton’s wife took away the machete. The victim was treated at a hospital for a deep cut on his forearm.
