The 17-year-old girl of Georgia, was shot and killed by her mother’s boyfriend during a domestic dispute.

Elberton Police Chief Mark Welsh said that Raphael Diaz de Leon, 49, was drunk when he opened fire on his girlfriend, Rhonda Cureton, and her teenage daughter, Alyric Fouch.

Leon got into an altercation with his girlfriend about 6:45 p.m. on Saturday.

Neighbors said that Fouch fought with Diaz de Leon on the street and tried to stop him from going after their mother.

Cureton, a divorced mother of three children, ran out of her house and flagged down a passing motorist, 83-year-old Norman Grimes. He stopped, and the woman jumped into his car and they drove off.

However, when Cureton entered the elderly man’s car, police said Diaz de Leon opened fire, and shot at them. He also shot and killed the teenager who was outside the home.

Cureton suffered a gunshot wound in the neck, and the good Samaritan was wounded in the shoulder. Both have been taken to the hospital, where they were treated and released.

Diaz de Leon then went back inside the house and shot himself. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said that the woman’s two surviving daughters, 12-year-old Deryann and Simona, 10, were at home at the time and witnessed the killing of their half-sister, but they were uninjured.

Police said that they are investigating the case as a murder-suicide.
