Police officer shoots partner while discussing accidental shootings

A police officer was slapped with a fine after shooting his partner while discussing accidental shootings, the Norwegian Bureau for the Investigation of Police Affairs said.

Now, the male police officer, who was not identified, has a received a fine of 12,000 kroner ($1,431) for shooting his female partner in the leg inside a police station in Namsos and Fosnes.

According to the police investigation, the officers discussed accidental shooting before the male officer came behind her and put his hand into her gun holster.

The male officer did not check if the gun was unloaded before pulling the trigger. The next thing the female officer remembers is hearing a loud bang.

She fell down on the floor, and suffered a lot of pain in her right leg. The bullet hit the female officer below the knee and came out of her leg several inches down.

The bullet did not hit any bones, but she suffered nerve damage to her leg.
