Toronto police said that they arrested 31-year-old Daniel Ferreira, after being accused of boarding to Toronto Transit Commision bus and pulling out a knife on Thursday night.
Ferreira was charged with assault with a weapon, mischief endangering life, forcible confinement, uttering threats and taking a motor vehicle without content.
According to the police investigation, around 11:30 p.m., the suspect ordered the driver to not stop at bus stops and drive straight to the closest Tim Hortons and not stop at red lights.

Officers arrested the man at the restaurant after the suspect called them to report that he overdosed on drugs. No one was injured as a result of the hijacking.
