(Scroll down for video) A young girl was airlifted to a hospital after being burned in a hot oven.
A Texas woman was arrested after allegedly putting her 2-year-old daughter in the oven, leaving the girl with severe burns.
35-year-old Tasha Shontell Hatcher was charged with injury to a child with serious bodily injury in connection with the incident.
She was booked into jail, and her bail was set at $300,000.
The Somervell County Sheriff’s Department responded to a house about 11:45 p.m., after receiving a report of a child with severe burns on her body.
Witnesses told deputies that Hatcher admitted to putting the child in the family’s oven, according to the police report.
The girl was flown to the Parkland Burn Center in Dallas, where she is being treated for second and third-degree burns. The child was placed in the custody of child protection services.
Her mother’s family was banned from contacting the girl.
